Giovanni Damico's new EP, released by Chicago-based label Star Creature, is a fresh and exciting blend of African and Italo disco influences consistent with the Italian producers recent explorations. The record is littered with with a pulsing bassline and catchy, upbeat rhythms that pervade the tone for a dance off throughout. The African-inspired percussive elements add a layer of irresistible groove to the track, while the Italo disco synths provide a retro feel that is both nostalgic and contemporary.
